About the Journal

Journal of Islamic Humanities and Social Inquiry (JIHSI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that provides an academic platform for interdisciplinary research on Islam and Muslim societies from the perspectives of the humanities and social sciences. The journal aims to promote critical, original, and contextual scholarship that reflects the diverse experiences, expressions, and intellectual currents of Islam across time and space. 
JIHSI encourages studies that engage with a wide range of themes and contexts, including the internal dynamics of Muslim communities as well as their interactions with other religions, cultures, and global issues. It welcomes diverse methodological approaches, including textual and literary analysis, historical studies, and fieldwork-based research, to better understand the complexity of Islam in both its normative frameworks and everyday practices.
